Jaffer Zaidi and Maaz Maudood arrived on the scene with their band ‘Kaavish’ more than over a decade ago, but the duo has been musically active on their own as well as a collective for much longer. Jaffer grew up in a household where music was a given, son of the renowned Nayyara Noor, took the melodic route soon after he learnt to walk. Meanwhile, Maaz’s love for the guitar and music inspired by his cousin grew in folds over the years.

While still in school, the two became close friends and performed at in house shows as well as concerts for a larger audience at various venues. In the following years, they managed to release their first album, ‘Gunkali’, as well as produced a couple of videos for their original tracks such as ‘Bachpan’, ‘Tere Pyaar Mein’ and ‘More Sayyaan’.

After the band featured in Coke Studio Season 4 for a poignant performance of ‘Nindiya Re’ and again, in Season 8 with ‘Neun La Leya’, Kaavish returns to Coke Studio, Season 10 to recreate the magic of Maaz’s undulating sound of the guitar merged with Jaffer’s humbly soothing vocals.
